Explanation of events:

Slalom--Timed racing between gates. Fastest time on course within each age group wins.

GS--Giant Slalom is the same as Slalom except there are fewer gates and they are spaced further apart.

BX--Boardercross is a race to the finish from a start gate over tabletops, around banks, and over rollers. First two advance to the next round and in the finals the first one down wins.

Halfpipe--Freestyle event down a halfpipe made of snow. Make as many hits as you can while keeping speed and amplitude and huck your best tricks. This event is judged and highest scores in each age group wins.

Slopestyle--Another freestyle event where competitors go through a course of jumps, rails and boxes and attempt their best tricks. Highest score within each age group wins.

Quarterpipe--Freestyle event in which each competitor gains speed down the hill and then attempts their best trick on the quarterpipe at the bottom. This is also a judged event and the competitor with the best score within their age group wins. Contact Joel at The Alt for further explanations.

Note from 06/07 season:

Attention All USASA Competitors

***NATIONAL RANKING POINTS: Alright here is the deal, guys. I am going to try to get these lists of regional rankings online tonight if we can. The system is not set up to export the files but I'm working on it. Unfortunately, these reports will not tell you whether or not you will be going to Nationals for your National Ranking Points if you did not qualify by placing. All series have to have their points in by March 11th, and on March 12th they will be able to figure out who will be going based on points. Obviously each series has to have all of their points in before this can be determined. If you have qualified this year by getting first place in an event, or if you are pre-qualified, you will be receiving an e-mail from Jason after this weekend detailing what to do next. I know this is confusing and people are frustrated with the new system, but we are doing what we can to make the transition smooth! If you have questions about whether you are pre-qualified or qualified this year, we will have all of that paperwork done on Monday and Jay should have a list of all these competitors. Please feel free to e-mail me with questions you have on any of this and I will be happy to help where I can! Thanks everyone!
